Cesc Fabregas predicts what will happen with Mohamed Salah at Liverpool after contract comments

Liverpool beat Manchester United 3-0 on Sunday, but a lot of the headlines after the game have been dominated by an off-field matter.

Indeed, Mohamed Salah’s comments to Sky Sports have raised eyebrows as the Egyptian noted that nobody has spoken to him about a new contract.

Speaking on the , Cesc Fabregas has been discussing Salah’s situation and his contract.

Fabregas does know Salah from his time at Chelsea, and he says that he thinks the 32-year-old will be on his way this summer and these comments were a clear message about his future.

Cesc Fabregas says Mohamed Salah will leave

The pundit shared his verdict on the ‘’ attacker’s future.

“The player doesn’t think that this is a new executive and a new coach, they are selfish in a way. Me too, we just think for ourselves. I think he just doesn’t care at all what is happening. He wants to be told what’s happening,’ Fabregas said.

“Once he’s made that statement he’s thought very well about what he wants to say and he’s sending a clear message. I believe he’s telling the truth. I don’t know if he wants a new contract, maybe I am being naïve, but knowing Mo he will send that message because he really feels it is his last year and he will move on at the end.”

How does Mohamed Salah feel at Liverpool?

Fabregas reckons that Salah was sending a clear message to Liverpool here, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Indeed, according to Fabrizio Romano, Salah is actually very happy at Anfield.

“The situation for Mo is quite clear. He would be really happy to continue at Liverpool. I can confirm that. That is a crucial part of the story, Mo would like to stay at the club, Mo is very happy at Liverpool,” Romano said.

“Mo believes his future could still be in the Premier League in a Liverpool shirt, so the message from the player’s side is clear. Now it depends if they can reach an agreement on financial terms.”

Salah’s future is certainly up in the air as nobody seems to know what will happen with the Egyptian, but it’s way too early to say that he’s looking to leave Liverpool at this early juncture.
