Cesc Fabregas praises ‘really complete’ £40m Tottenham star who can play in two positions

This week, a lot of the topic of conversation centred around Tottenham and how they’ve done under Ange Postecoglou. And while Fabregas admitted he wasn’t overly enamoured with how Spurs defend, he did find time to praise midfielder, James Maddison.

Speaking about the Tottenham man, Fabregas admitted to being really impressed with what he sees from the England star.
“Straight away, you could feel he’s got the confidence and personality to demand the ball, make things happen and to create situations. He’s good at dribbling he’s good at assisting he can score goals, he has an eye for the final ball. So yeah, he’s a really complete player in my opinion. He can play as an eight or a ten, that’s what you want. A player who is versatile, that can combine good understanding with Son and the strikers. For me, he’s a fantastic player to have and I’m sure as a coach you adapt to the quality your players have and definitely, he is one of them you would always want in your team,” Fabregas .
Game-changing signing for Tottenham
There was good reason for a number of clubs wanting James Maddison in the summer and he’s shown that at Tottenham this season.
Maddison has been ideal for Postecoglou’s set up and the fact the new Spurs boss made him part of the leadership group immediately says a lot.
On the pitch, ‘Madders’ has been excellent and his four PL goals and seven assists show that quality.
As Fabregas says, Maddison’s versatility is also a bonus for Tottenham and as the season goes on, the England man will be vitally important in the top four race.
