‘Certainly’: Ray Parlour makes confident claim about £51k-a-week PL star linked to Arsenal

Ray Parlour is confident that reported Arsenal target Ben White will “certainly” be a good signing for them.

Brighton defender White is heavily linked with a transfer to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

reports that Arsenal are in “advanced talks” with Brighton for the 23-year-old.

The report explains a deal could be worth in excess of £50million, but right now negotiations are around the structure of payments.

White, who’s at Euro 2020 with the England squad this summer, is a highly rated centre-back.

The ball-playing centre-half has just enjoyed an excellent debut season in the Premier League after breaking into the Brighton first team. As a result, he was a late call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

He’s a defender with immense potential.

Arsenal hero Parlour has reacted to the transfer rumours around White positively.

“He’s a good player. He’s now in the England set-up as well. I think he’ll be a decent signing,” Parlour told .

“£50million is a lot of money. He will certainly be a good signing if they get him. It’s a lot of money. I don’t think his wages would be big would they.“

Ben White will prove many wrong at Arsenal

If you hear the reaction to the £50million price tag, most are surprised Arsenal may be set to splash out that kind of money on White.

However, those that watch him closely know he’s a supreme talent.

He was dominant on loan at Leeds United in the Championship in the 2019/20 season. In addition, he followed that up during the last campaign in the top flight with Brighton.

He looks perfect for Mikel Arteta’s system at the Emirates, so it’s a deal fans should get behind.
