Cenk Tosun, after what will be three years on Merseyside, is finally set to leave Goodison Park.
The Turkish striker has not had a good time at Everton, despite signing for the club for £27m back in January 2018 ().
Reports from Turkey claim the 30-year-old is set to rejoin Besiktas on a permanent deal in January, finally ending his time in England ().
In Tosun’s time at the club he has failed to leave a real mark.
He has only managed to score 11 goals in 58 appearances for Everton () and hasn’t featured for the club since he made a substitute appearance on January 1 2021 against West Ham.

Loan spells have been a part of Tosun’s time at Everton. A short yet unsuccessful spell at Crystal Palace didn’t help his cause and neither did an injury-hit time at Besiktas.
Everton fans won’t have too bad to say about Tosun – it is not the player’s fault that his transfer fee was so high.
However, buying from leagues of lesser repute such as the Turkish Super Lig comes with its risks, and Tosun certainly proved to be a risk that didn’t pay off.
It doesn’t help that Tosun is currently recovering from a patellar tendon rupture. But hopefully by the time January comes around he will have recovered enough to hit the ground running at Besiktas.
Across his multiple spells at the Turkish side, Tosun has proved to be prolific.
In 146 games for the club he has scored at a rate of almost a goal every two games, with 67 strikes ().
It is a shame that the Toffees didn’t see that sort of scoring form from the target-man. But, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and new signing Salomon Rondon at the club (), Tosun certainly won’t be missed.
