Celtic were outfought-outplayed and outmanoeuvred in the Old Firm derby at the weekend. Rangers finally registered a long overdue league win against the Bhoys during the Brendan Rodgers era thanks to Ryan Jack’s first-half goal at Ibrox.
It was the least Rangers deserved and questions have to be asked about the recruitment at Celtic after this shocking display.
Fans were crying out in the summer for the club to strengthen the full-back positions. Mikael Lustig has been slowly depreciating whilst they lacked cover for Kieran Tierney at left-back.

Celtic failed to deliver on both counts, eventually bringing back Emilio Izaguirre to plug the left-back hole.
The result of this horrid mismanagement was painfully clear on Saturday.
Lustig was torn apart by Ryan Kent throughout the game, leaving the Celtic player to limp out of action with a battered leg and ego. Anthony Ralston performed better and perhaps he now needs to be the starting right-back.
In the absence of Tierney, Celtic fielded Callum McGregor at left-back. Losing his influence in the centre of the park was a massive disadvantage and Celtic found themselves bullied with Scott Brown and Olivier Ntcham out of form.
Celtic not managing to bring in new faces at full-back in the summer was a clear mistake. Rangers gleefully exposed that fact at the weekend.
