Celtic’s failed summer target David Turnbull is off crutches, according to team-mate
One of Celtic’s main transfer targets in the summer is making good steps in his recovery from the injury that prevented his move.
David Turnbull was very nearly a Celtic player this summer. to sign the Motherwell youngster was scuppered twice in June.
First of all, the two parties could not come to terms on a contract. Once that was sorted, Turnbull failed a medical and Celtic pulled the plug.
A knee injury was discovered in the Celtic medical and the 20-year-old underwent surgery in London to rectify the issue. He was ruled out until 2020 and Motherwell are without a key player.

However, it seems he is stepping up his recovery. , Turnbull is off of crutches and is still a regular around Fir Park.
Indeed, ‘Well defender Declan Gallagher has spoken of the team’s excitement at his potential recovery and that Celtic summer deal.
“David is in about the club all the time. He’s working hard to get back and obviously it’s a big boost for the boys just to see him walking about and off his crutches. So if we can get him back it’s massive for us.
“He is a great player, there’s no doubt about that. You don’t get a price tag of £3 million and go to Celtic if you’re not. The sooner we can get him back the better.”
The hope will be that Turnbull is back in action before the end of the year and Celtic will surely be keeping tabs on his progress.
Neil Lennon is a big fan of the player who is easily one of Scotland’s top young talents. If he can get fit and have a strong second half to the season, you can easily imagine Celtic making another approach for the player next year.
