Celtic supporters applaud Ryan Christie after Sarajevo victory

Ryan Christie completed 90 minutes for Celtic in their win over FK Sarajevo on Tuesday night – and some of the club’s supporters were blown away by his impressive display.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder showed some quality moments on the ball and looked sharp for the first competitive game of the season.

Neil Lennon’s side recorded a 3-1 away victory in Bosnia to seize control of their Champions League first round qualifier.

They fought back from a goal down to net three times in the first leg and are in pole position ahead of the second leg in Scotland.

After the early setback of going behind, Celtic were level before half-time courtesy of Mikey Johnston’s strike from range.

Attackers Odsonne Edouard and Scott Sinclair then secured the victory with impressive individuals goals in the second period.

A selection of Celtic supporters on social media singled out Christie for praise following his efforts against Bosnian champions Sarajevo.

He was playing in his first competitive game since a facial injury in April and he saw plenty of the ball in attacking areas.
