Tom Rogic clocked up his 50th cap for Australia on Thursday evening – but despite the Socceroos winning 3-1, his country’s media have been critical.
Rogic, 28, has already clocked up 18 outings for Celtic this season – having a hand in four games. The midfielder remains a regular for Australia.

Awer Mabil gave the Socceroos the lead, only for Oman to equalise on 26 minutes through Al-Mandhar Al Alawi. But Australia were dominant.
The breakthrough finally came when Rogic nutmegged a defender to pull back to Adam Taggart, whose effort deflected into the path of Martin Boyle.
A third came late on, with the game somewhat comfortable. Rogic lasted 63 minutes, and despite the win –
“He probably would have hoped for more on the special occasion of his 50th appearance in green and gold,” . “His passing was very poor.
“He made just two-thirds of his 21 attempts. Struggled to find space to get on the ball often enough. But Rogic has the ability to create moments of magic.”

Rogic’s best form came in 2016-17, his first season under Brendan Rodgers. While he might not have got as many goals or assists, his creativity is huge.
He is far from that. Injury and a lack of momentum has seemingly had a permanent affect on Rogic; lacks the impact and control he used to have.
The magic in Rogic’s boots has been misplaced, but it is not lost. There is still time at 28 for Rogic to rediscover that form and confidence.
Under Ange Postecoglou, he has a manager that is capable of getting the best out of him. The duo need to trust eachother for it to work.
