Celtic signing Jonjoe Kenny surely much more likely if David Wagner gets Hoops job
After months of frustration, Celtic fans can now look forward to watching on as the club consider who to appoint as Neil Lennon’s permanent successor.
Candidates appear to be emerging already. that David Wagner is one of those likely to register an interest in the post.

Wagner did a remarkable job with Huddersfield Town. And while his spell at Schalke did not work out, it does appear that their problems may extend beyond the 49-year-old’s tenure.
So he will surely be an option that the Celtic board do consider if he does apply.
And if he gets the job, surely there is no doubt over the identity of one of the club’s key targets for the summer window.

In truth, it would be no surprise to see Celtic ask Everton about a permanent move for Jonjoe Kenny whatever happens.
The right-back has been a shining light since his arrival on loan. And the Toffees may well be open to selling the 23-year-old, that Carlo Ancelotti’s men would let him go for around £10 million.
It remains to be seen what their stance and potential asking price will be. But Wagner will surely want to ask the question.
‘He’s a great bloke’
Wagner worked with Kenny while the defender was on loan at Schalke last season. that he would love to sign him permanently.
“He has done great for us since we signed him on loan. He’s a regular starter, he’s scored and given assists and he’s a great bloke as well,” .
“He’s highly respected in the dressing room and from our supporters.
“It looks like we won’t have the financial power to buy him and if Everton like to sell him then we are more or less chanceless. We are very keen to keep him at our club, and if there is a chance to extend the loan then obviously we’d like to speak.”
Of course, no move would take place last summer. But if Wagner ends up being appointed at Celtic, he will surely be asking the club to do all they can to make sure that Kenny is a Hoops player next season.
