Celtic reportedly keen on signing striker Barry Ferguson thinks Celtic and Rangers should be eyeing
Celtic are reportedly considering a move to raid Hibernian for goal machine Kevin Nisbet this summer, after the striker’s stellar 2020-21 campaign. Reports say the Hoops want him, just a few weeks after Barry Ferguson stated both Celtic and Rangers should be looking at him.
Nisbet, 24, has been excellent form for Hibs. While he tailed off towards the end of the season, the one-time Scotland international still finished with numbers of 18 goals in 44 games. Playing as a winger, or a number 10 as well as a striker, the Scotland striker also laid on an impressive eight assists.
Celtic are considering Nisbet this summer. It is unclear how much the Hoops would have to pay to get Nisbet, but the same report states Hibs want Leigh Griffiths. The Celtic icon has spent two seasons on loan at Easter Road, and a player-plus-cash deal could be engineered.
Rangers icon Ferguson, who has swapped Kelty Hearts for Alloa, told his Go Radio Show just this month – – that both Old Firm sides need to consider Nisbet. He thinks both Rangers and Celtic would be made not to consider Nisbet, who has been called up to the Euro 2020 squad.
“I think it would be crazy if both Rangers and Celtic are not looking at Kevin Nisbet,” “You are always taking a gamble, every signing is a gamble no matter whether you are paying £1m or £5m. I think players like Kevin Nisbet are worth the gamble, I really do. He has got all the attributes to be a really good centre-forward.”

First-half form must be consistent, if Celtic or Rangers are to sign Nisbet
Before the turn of the year, Nisbet scored 10 goals in 19 Scottish Premiership matches for Hibs. In the second half of the season, he only got four goals in 14 outings. So, if Nisbet is to make it at either one of the Old Firm duo, he needs to change his first-half form into the norm.
But he has the potential to do it. He is versatile, he can come off the bench and make an impact or start and shine. He has goals, assists, trickery, and can score any type of goal. A real asset to have, for either Celtic or Rangers – and Celtic fans agree.
