Celtic fans slam David Turnbull decision in Dundee United draw

A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to slam the decision to take David Turnbull off during Sunday’s draw with Dundee United.

The Hoops failed to secure the result that they needed to keep the title race mathematically going for a little longer. They could only draw 0-0 at Tannadice.

Celtic had more than enough chances to win the game. However, they also rarely looked like finding a goal against Micky Mellon’s men.

And it appears that plenty of supporters feel that John Kennedy did little to boost their chances of winning the contest.

Turnbull was arguably the best player on the pitch during the first hour. Remarkably, he made five key passes, . No player could match that tally.

He also completed more successful dribbles than any other player. But his record is all the more impressive given that he was only on the pitch for 63 minutes.

Kennedy decided to replace Turnbull with Tom Rogic with just under half an hour remaining. And it appears that no Celtic fan was particularly surprised that a winner did not come after the midfielder was replaced.

Many took to social media to slam the decision. Turnbull has been Celtic’s best player this season. And taking him off at a time when the Hoops were looking for a winner seemed quite symbolic after the campaign the fans have endured.
