Plenty of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react to the that the Hoops are rivalling Rangers for Lawrence Shankland.
It is probably not a huge surprise that Neil Lennon is seemingly looking at signing a new striker. Odsonne Edouard’s stock continues to rise, but they arguably need greater depth in the final third.

that Shankland is one of the players that Celtic are considering. It has been reported that the Hoops had a scout in attendance for Dundee United’s win against Morton at the weekend.
Shankland – who was also being watched by a representative from Rangers – scored a hat-trick in the game to take his tally for the season for 15 goals in 12 games.

that Celtic will need to pay £2 million for the 24-year-old, who joined the Scottish Championship side from Ayr on a free transfer in the summer.
The reports have divided the fans on social media. Some believe that he is worth taking a punt on given his outstanding goalscoring record. It is also noted that his transfer fee is not too substantial.
However, there are some who do not want Celtic to sign the striker. They have their doubts that he can raise his game to meet the standards at Parkhead – and it is also predicted that he may end up heading to Rangers instead.
Here is how some of the Celtic fans have reacted to the reports…
Buy him in Jan and loan him back till end of season. ?

So again being linked to sorry its ok scoring goals in league 1 last year with & this year with he’s unproven as a striker up against good defenders just my opinion

Knows where goal is….. better getting him now (for next to nothing) and see if he develops as opposed to him sign for a hibs / Motherwell etc and then be held to ransom v English clubs.

Looking for thoughts on Celtic signing Lawrence Shankland in January? He appears a real natural. Leigh Griffiths continues to have various muscle injury issues, Odsonne Edouard will almost certainly miss next season’s UEFA qualifiers due to being at Olympic Games.

Should have signed him in the summer for a lot less than what he is worth now.

Would rather see what Afolabi can do. Shankland is playing at his level, top of championship.
