Celtic fans react to performance of Ryan Christie during St Johnstone win

Celtic secured a 2-1 win over St Johnstone on Sunday afternoon to continue their mini-renaissance of late – and afterwards, all the talk was about the performance of Ryan Christie.

Odsonne Edouard bagged two goals for the Hoops who are 18 points behind their fierce rivals Rangers in the quest to land a tenth Premiership title in succession.

The Frenchman’s first goal came courtesy of some strong work by Christie and fans were delighted with his return to form during today’s contest.

In midweek the 25-year-old scored and claimed an assist during a 4-0 win over St Mirren and the Scotland international looks to be edging back to his best form.

Neil Lennon’s team have done well of late and the best they can do is just keep winning matches and see where that might take them.

Christie earns £8,000-a-week at Celtic Park and is a big player for the club. Like most other players in Lennon’s ranks, however, he has struggled for consistency this season.

Despite that, he does have 13 assists to his name, which for context, is more than Ianis Hagi at Rangers.

With just five goals, however, Celtic fans might have expected a little bit more in that sense from the man who has played 129 times for the club.

Supporters were mightily impressed with the form his displayed this afternoon and here is what the fan base were saying about Christie during today’s game.
