Girona manager Eusebio Sacristan as saying that Patrick Roberts is unlikely to play for the Spanish side again this season – and Celtic fans have reacted on Twitter.
Roberts, 22, has played 19 times for Girona this season. But only six of those have been from the off, and the Manchester City loanee has failed to see out an entire 90 minutes.
Failing to score for Girona, Roberts has only managed one assist. It is a stark contract to his form in Scotland, where he scored 18 goals and created 26 more 78 league and cup appearances.
Roberts is still thought of highly at Parkhead, where he helped the Hoops win three Scottish Premiership titles while on loan from Manchester City.

“Patrick Roberts isn’t in the squad. There are other players in the team I believe that are better and there’s no point entering into further details,”
Out wide, Celtic could do with additions. Scott Sinclair is yet to sign a new deal and could leave the club this summer, while Timo Weah and Oliver Burke are only on loan from Paris Saint-Germain and West Bromwich Albion.
Celtic fans have reacted to Sacristan’s comments on Twitter, pleading with their club to bring the former Fulham attacker back to Glasgow in the summer window.
Paddy Roberts axed by Girona and has 12 months left on his Man City contract.
