Celtic fans react as Lewis Morgan led the line against Hamilton

There was no Odsonne Edouard or Vakoun Issouf Bayo last night so Neil Lennon stuck with Celtic winger Lewis Morgan up top.

Morgan played against Rennes last week, scoring his second goal of the season. The 23-year-old followed this up with a start against Ross County and a start against Hamilton Academical.

Celtic beat Hamilton – narrowly. Scott Brown’s stoppage-time winner moved Celtic two points clear at the top. It was a dramatic piece of action right at the death after Hamilton scored a 90th-minute equaliser.

Morgan played for 68 minutes in last night’s clash before Lennon decided to switch things up. Leigh Griffiths, who is just returning from injuries, was given a 22-minute cameo at the end.

Morgan’s performance was criticised by Celtic fans on social media. There are a number of supporters who do not want to see the Scotland winger starting as a centre-forward at the weekend.

With a cup final against bitter rivals Rangers coming up, Lennon needs to weigh up his options. Here are some tweets from Celtic fans reacting to Morgan’s performance against Hamilton.
