Celtic fans react as club reportedly after Real Madrid loanee Takefusa Kubo

Celtic are reportedly one of 30 clubs interested in signing Real Madrid loanee Takefusa Kubo this summer as he continues to impress on loan at La Liga side RCD Mallorca – and Celtic supporters have reacted on Twitter.

Kubo, 19, joined Real Madrid from FC Tokyo in the summer of 2019 before immediately going on loan to La Liga side Mallorca where he has made a name for himself – clocking up 28 appearances in Spain’s top tier.

During that time, the Japan international has scored three goals including efforts against Villarreal and Real Betis – as well as laying on three assists. Celtic are not the only side interested, though.

29 others clubs are keen – with French champions PSG leading the way. Ajax, Lazio, Milan, Betis and Real Sociedad are also interested, as are Celtic and 23 other teams in the winger’s signature.

Celtic will be keen to keep Mo Elyounoussi at Parkhead this summer but Neil Lennon has admitted that it may be tough to sign the Norwegian a second time around. Kubo could be eyed as his replacement.

But given the competition, a deal could be unlikely and Celtic fans are aware. Many stated that there is no chance and while some would like to see Kubo at Parkhead, the overriding feeling is a that a deal will not go through.

Real certainly rate the teenager, having placed a huge £227million release clause in his contract.
