The Betfred Cup semi-final between Celtic and Hearts was 0-0 and finely poised at half-time when Ryan Christie was introduced as a substitute at Hampden Park.
The Bhoys fringe player is into the final year of his contract and is surely running out of chances to earn a new one.
But he certainly grabbed his opportunity in the second half of this one, grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck and swinging it in Celtic’s direction.

Christie helped smash the game open when he won a penalty just eight minutes into the second half, which was converted by another player looking to rebuild his standing at Celtic Park, Scott Sinclair.
13 minutes later, he was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet himself when his shot looked to have crossed the line before James Forrest prodded him to double the lead.
Then Christie took centre stage. He whistled a cracking left-foot strike into the top corner of the Hearts net to seal the victory and sew up the man of the match award despite only playing for 45 minutes.
Celtic fans loved it, understandably, and we’ve looked at the best of the reaction…
