Celtic fans praise 25-year-old for cup performance against Falkirk

Celtic cruised to victory on Saturday night against Falkirk in the Scottish Cup – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were full of praise for their player Mohamed Elyounoussi after his display.

Celtic beat League One opposition Falkirk 3-0 at Parkhead in the Scottish Cup third round.

It took until two quick-fire goals in the second half for the Bhoys to break down a stubborn opposition, as James Forrest and Ryan Christie both got on the scoresheet in quick succession.

They added a third later on with a sublime goal.

Elyounoussi, 26, came off the bench to score an exceptional chipped goal, as he showed cool composure to lift the ball over the goalkeeper from close range.

The Norwegian attacker made a real impact with his late 15-cameo appearance off the bench.

He’s been a little inconsistent this season during his loan from Premier League club Southampton, but ultimately he’s now got 15 goals across all competitions to highlight his ability in the final third.

A selection of Celtic supporters on social media loved his contribution from the bench, and many are desperate to see the Scottish giants do everything they can to sign him on a permanent basis in the summer when he returns to St Mary’s.

Here are some Bhoys fans discussing Elyounoussi’s weekend display:
