Celtic fans loved Kristoffer Ajer’s tackle celebrations in Old Firm win and John Kennedy claims he does the same in training

Kristoffer Ajer produced a warrior-like performance for Celtic in Sunday’s 2-1 win over bitter rivals Rangers.

The 20-year-old was a rock at the back and made two crucial goal-saving tackles after Celtic retook the lead late into the game.

One was particularly impressive as Ajer produced a full stretch block to deny Joe Worrall from inside the six-yard box.

The Norwegian defender, who finished the game with a bloodied face, then got to his feet and celebrated like he had scored a goal.

Celtic fans loved this passion from Ajer and the Bhoys assistant manager John Kennedy claims that he does that all the time in training, .

Ajer is even the butt of his team-mates’ jokes for the fact that he celebrates his tackles in training match scenarios, Kennedy says.

: “I’ve seen him do that in training in five v fives. He sometimes gets stick for it but that’s his passion. You can see what it means to him and that’s what you want.

“That tackle shows his passion for the game and what it means to stop them scoring a goal at that vital moment.”

Ajer is still young and he is showing exactly how good he can be for Celtic as he takes a starring role next season. The fact that he celebrates his tackles shows just how much he loves defending.
