Celtic fans discuss Tom Rogic display vs St Johnstone on Twitter

A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react to the performance of Tom Rogic as the Hoops beat St Johnstone 3-1 to keep the pressure on the Scottish Premiership leaders.

Ange Postecoglou made a number of changes for the clash at McDiarmid Park. But the contest looked to be essentially over inside 22 minutes.

Liel Abada scored twice before the midway point in the first-half before the home side got one back after the break. Nir Bitton ensured that there was to be no comeback.

The first Celtic goal saw Abada bundle the ball across the line after his initial shot was brilliantly saved.

And the second came after a delightful pass from Rogic. The Australian slid the ball into Abada’s path from outside the box. And many Celtic fans felt that it was a moment of quality that summed up his overall performance. He also provided the assist for Bitton’s strike.

Rogic managed five key passes during the game, . And plenty of supporters insisted that he largely ran the show against Callum Davidson’s side.

The 29-year-old appears to be enjoying something of a career revival under Postecoglou. Of course, his quality has never been in doubt. However, he has struggled for consistency amid various fitness issues.

But he has already made more starts in the top-flight than he managed during the entirety of last season. He has now surpassed the number of assists, whilst also scoring two more goals than last term.
