Celtic fans discuss Neil Lennon’s decision regarding David Turnbull against Aberdeen

Celtic failed to hold onto a 3-2 lead over Aberdeen as they conceded an injury-time equaliser at Pittodrie, losing more ground in their pursuit of 10 in a row – and Hoops supporters have questioned the lack of game time for David Turnbull.

The Premiership champions came into the match under pressure. A 2-0 defeat to Rangers last Saturday saw them fall behind the Gers by four points, before a disappointing display against AC Milan saw a 3-1 scoreline flatter Neil Lennon’s side.

Lewis Ferguson opened the scoring from the penalty spot, netting his seventh league goal after a clumsy challenge from Olivier Ntcham. But captain-for-the-day Callum McGregor equalised in the second 45, after a lovely pass from Tom Rogic.

However, Celtic struggled to control the match and Ryan Hedges put Aberdeen 2-1 up after a mistake from Shane Duffy. The ball was bundled home by Hedges after a shot from Sam Cosgrove was parried by goalkeeper Scott Bain.

Leigh Griffiths came off the bench to equalise with a stunning finish, and were 3-2 up moments later after Mo Elyounoussi was fouled in the box – with Ryan Christie netting. Turnbull, a £3million signing () was brought on after 86 minutes.

But Celtic failed to hold on, as McGregor conceded a penalty. It was Ferguson again who kept his cool to score, and Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to question the decision to give Turnbull just four minutes of game time.
