Celtic fans discuss Albian Ajeti as Ange Postecoglou tastes victory in first pre-season friendly
Ange Postecoglou watched his Celtic side come from behind to beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 in Newport on Wednesday afternoon. It was the Aussie gaffer’s first game in charge, and after a poor start – Celtic looked comfortable. Celtic fans discussed the display of Albian Ajeti on Twitter.
Postecoglou took his side to Wales to take on Wednesday, in a match that saw new Celtic sign Liam Shaw start against the side he has just left. He named a mix of first-team fringe players and youngsters to start the match, before making 10 changes on the hour mark. Ajeti started.
It has been a tricky time for Ajeti north of the border. The 24-year-old played 31 times for the Hoops in all competitions last season. But the ex-West Ham and Basel ace only clocked up six goals and four assists. Postecoglou, somewhat surprisingly, started him and made him captain.

What have Celtic fans said about Ajeti and his performance?
It was Josh Windass that scored the first goal of the game. The ex-Rangers ace found the back of the net after just three minutes to get Postecoglou’s first match off to a shocker, but Celtic’s class rang true in the end. Receiving the ball on the left-hand side of the area, the Swiss striker cut inside.
His low shot found the back of the net and got Celtic fans on par, before Owen Moffat and Odsonne Edouard got themselves goals to secure a 3-1 win. Celtic fans were full of praise for Ajeti on Twitter after the match, with some suggesting the striker has lost weight and looked fitter.
