Celtic should snap up Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster on loan

Liverpool youngster and England Under-17’s World Cup winner Rhian Brewster has been linked with a loan switch to Scotish champions Celtic and former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers.

has reported that Rodgers is determined to add him to his treble-chasing squad for next season.

If Brewster does arrive with the Hoops, very little will have been seen of the youngster in senior football. The striker has had minimal chances in the Premier League due to Liverpool’s formidable attacking options up-front.

Jurgen Klopp has  at the 18-year-old’s progression and may be ready to give him plenty of first-team opportunities next term.

The youngster was formidable in the World Cup for England in last summer’s tournament, during which he picked up the Golden Boot as top-scorer in the overall competition.

The move would be perfect for the former Chelsea youth prospect who was pouched by Rodgers when he was Liverpool manager, back in 2015.

The current Celtic boss believed Brewster to be one of England’s most talented prospects and the youngster could be keen to join the manager who showed initial faith in him.

The teenager has lightning pace and is a fine finisher in front of goal.

With Celtic using the loan system to good effect in the past, it could be the perfect move for both parties.

Moussa Dembele is being from the Scottish champions and Odsonne Edouard is set to return to parent club Paris Saint-Germain.

Therefore, a move to Celtic Park could provide the perfect opportunity for Brewster to establish himself in senior football.

It could also be an opportunity for Rodgers to steal a potential transfer target from new Rangers manager, former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.

Brewster was a key figure for the under-18’s coach at Liverpool and the legendary Reds captain had helped the talented teenager flourish throughout the season.

Brewster would not only be a luxury deal for Celtic but could be an opportunity to snatch a potential target from their fierce rivals.
