Catalan reports claim Everton will need to pay £36.7m for transfer target

Everton have once again been linked with a move for Barcelona attacker Malcom. However, the latest reports suggest they are currently far off in terms of a transfer valuation.

that Everton will pursue a deal for the Brazilian winger this summer. The report claims a €35 million (£31.3 million) offer could be in the offing for the former Bordeaux player.

But it seems that will not be enough to secure his transfer. Barcelona based newspaper has now dug deeper on the story.

that the Catalan club are expecting to receive an offer from Everton, backing the story from RMC.

However, €35 million (£31.3m) is not considered enough for Barcelona to sanction a sale. The report claims that Malcom is still valued at the €41 million (£36.7 million) that the Blaugrana paid for him last summer. That means Everton might have to make up a £5.4 million difference to sign the Brazilian.

Everton will, of course, be hoping their recently developed relationship with Barca can help that fee come down. The Toffees have recently signed Lucas Digne, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes from the Nou Camp.

But if not, Everton might have to make Malcom their third most expensive signing ever behind Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison.
