Carlton Cole says West Ham have an ‘underrated’ star that can ‘change the momentum of the game’
Carlton Cole has heaped enormous praise on West Ham star Pablo Fornals on Thursday night, following a 2-0 win over Rapid Vienna
The Hammers came into their second Europa League group stage match, having beaten Dinamo Zagreb in their opening game – winning 2-0.
They produced the same result to beat Rapid Vienna, with Declan Rice scoring for the second consecutive European outing – tapping home.
In injury time, Said Benrahma got his fourth goal of the season. The Hammers dominated, and even hit the post on a further two occasions.
Cole was full of praise for Fornals after the full-time whistle, explaining how he is crucial to David Moyes – but doesn’t get the credit he deserves.
“What a player. Can change the momentum of the game. He is an integral part of Moyes’ team – so underrated. He doesn’t get talked about enough.”

Cole on Fornals: West Ham star getting better and better
Joining West Ham in the summer of 2019 from Villarreal, the Spaniard struggled in his first season. But the arrival of Moyes has boosted Fornals.
Under the Scottish gaffer, he has become crucial to the London side. It has seen his confidence grow, and his form dramatically improve.
This season, for example, he already has three goal involvements in just six Premier League matches – scoring two and creating one more.
Alongside Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen, and in front of Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek – the Hammers have a really strong midfield five.
With every minute he plays under Moyes, Fornals is getting better. His tireless work rate is appreciated by Hammers fans, too.
