Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti expects two summer signings to get even better, despite already impressive starts to the season.
Everton have started the season excellently, winning four and drawing one of their first five games. Carlo Ancelotti believes the team can improve further, though.
The Everton boss named two summer signings as examples. Even they, despite excellent starts, can reach another gear.
“I think everyone can improve – also James [Rodriguez], Allan and the more experienced players,” he said, . “The quality of the training is better – it is important to keep this high.
“Every player has to show his own leadership. Not only players like Allan. The others can show leadership by example, by being professional on the pitch and training ground.
“That is not so difficult.”

If Ancelotti is right, Everton are in for an incredible season. James, in particular, has started strong. The Colombian has scored three and assisted three in his first five games. He’s created 15 chances in that time, too – he’s making the side tick.
And if he can kick on further and become an even better player for Everton, it seems the sky is the limit. They’re setting themselves up for a very promising season and will soon begin eyeing up the European spots.
James can’t carry them there on his own, certainly, but he’ll be the one they hope can lead them to a successful season. If the rest can catch up, the this team is definitely good enough to compete.
