Carlo Ancelotti calls for attitude change ahead of ‘vital’ moment in Everton’s season

Carlo Ancelotti has demanded a change in attitude from his Everton side following their 2-1 loss at home to Aston Villa last Friday.

In an following the clash, the Italian lambasted his team for their poor attitude as he called for a change ahead of the fixture against West Ham United this weekend.

The Blues were eased aside by the Villans in their last Premier League encounter, with goals from Anwar Al-Ghazi and Ollie Watkins enough to see Dean Smith’s side to victory.

Speaking about his team’s remaining fixtures at Goodison Park, Ancelotti said: “This is for sure. We have a vital game next game against West Ham. Of course, we have to change the attitude, the mentality and the result at home. We still have two games at home, against Sheffield United, and against Wolves. Of course, we have to win to stay in the fight, we can’t make mistakes anymore.

“If we want to stay in the fight every game is vital. That’s how it was for this game, this game was really important. We missed a great, big opportunity. But it’s not the last chance that we had, fortunately.”

act as an example of what happens when you cannot maintain consistency with the mental side of the game. Their fall from Champions League regulars to midtable mediocrity has come as a result of poor attitude both on and off the pitch.

With the Toffees looking to break into the top six, Everton need to rid themselves of their issues or face losing out on any progress they have made this season.
