Cardiff fans praise Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson for Championship performance

Harry Wilson left Liverpool in the transfer window to join Championship side Cardiff City on a season-long loan – and some of their fans on Twitter were left raving about him for his midweek performance.

Cardiff secured a point in the Championship by drawing 1-1 against Bournemouth on Wednesday night, as they scored a second-half equaliser.

Wilson was the Cardiff goalscorer with a neat first-time finish on his stronger left foot, as he timed his run into the penalty box to perfection and tucked his shot into the bottom corner.

The 23-year-old also hit the crossbar against Bournemouth and he looked a real goalscoring threat in the number 10 creative role.

Despite being used as a right-winger for the majority of his career so far, the early signs are he could be preferred more centrally and that does allow him to get more involved in play.

The Wales international scored seven goals last season during a season-long loan at Bournemouth and was unable to help them avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool couldn’t find room for the attacker in their squad at Anfield, which is why he’s exited again and dropped down to the second-tier with Cardiff.

A selection of Cardiff supporters on social media were extremely pleased with Wilson’s contribution against Bournemouth, as he scored his first goal in just his second game for them.
