‘By next week’… Journalist says Spurs want to announce £25m signing very soon
Tottenham Hotspur usually leave their January business to the last minute.
Pedro Porro was signed right at the end of the month last year, while both Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski were trolley dash deals back in January 2022.
However, this time around, it looks like they could get their business done quickly.
Indeed, the north London club are seemingly closing in on the signing of Radu Dragusin from Genoa with personal terms supposedly agreed.
According to Dean Jones, speaking on the , this deal is progressing rather well, and Spurs actually want to have this signing unveiled by next week.

Tottenham want Dragusin in by next week
Jones shared what he knows about the defender.
“It’s a deal that can be done. It wasn’t their top choice, Todibo was the one they wanted to get done first but there have been walls put up around that. Dragusin is a player who has been on their radar for longer than we realise. Over the past 18 months he’s been a player they had on their radar. I think it was Paratici who recommended him. He’s not an employee right now, but he does still consult, so maybe that has something to do with that transfer,” Jones said.
“It’s gone beyond a line of enquiry now, I’m told they’re confident personal terms won’t be a problem and it’s just the terms of a transfer and what fee it would be, it will be under £25m I think, if it comes together it will be this week, Spurs have like six fall-back options if this falls apart, but by next week they want to unveil this signing.”
Great start
This would be a fantastic start to the January transfer window for Spurs.
The centre-back issue at Tottenham needed addressing heading into this winter, and it looks as though Spurs aren’t going to waste any time on that front.
Of course, there are other issues in the team that need addressing – hence the recent links to Conor Gallagher, and after getting a centre-back through the door in seemingly swift fashion, don’t be shocked if Tottenham do end up moving quickly on a new midfielder in the next few weeks.
