Bukayo Saka sends message to Emile Smith Rowe after he leaves Arsenal for Fulham

Emile Smith Rowe’s Arsenal career has come to an end.

The 24-year-old’s future had been up in the air after barely playing any football over the last two seasons. Injuries really troubled him, and a move away seemed like the best thing for all parties.

Fulham showed interest in Smith Rowe early in the summer transfer window, and they intensified their interest in the final week of July.

Finally, on Friday, Arsenal confirmed that Smith Rowe has left the club to join Marco Silva’s side on a permanent deal.

Bukayo Saka reacts after Emile Smith Rowe’s Arsenal exit

Smith Rowe was one of the most popular players at Arsenal.

Everyone in and around the club absolutely loves him, and even though fans have known for a while now that he was on his way out, Friday was a sad day.

Smith Rowe is one of the biggest reasons why Arsenal are one of the best clubs in the world today.

Yes, he hasn’t played a lot of football over the last two seasons, but his performances when he broke into the side under Mikel Arteta arguably helped the Spaniard keep his job.

Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka were instrumental in laying the foundations for Arsenal’s rebuild. Without them, the Gunners wouldn’t be where they are today.

That’s why many Arsenal fans are devastated to see Smith Rowe leave, and his good pal Saka, who has shared a lot of good moments with him over the years, is really sad too.

After Smith Rowe released his farewell video on Instagram, Saka replied with a broken heart emoji. That is the same feeling every Arsenal fan has at the moment.

Arsenal fans could make a small change to Saka and Smith Rowe song

Saka and Smith Rowe are such fan favourites at the Emirates that both players have their own song.

Arsenal fans have sung their hearts out on a number of occasions over the years to show their love for the two academy graduates, but that chant is missing one half now.

With Smith Rowe gone, Arsenal fans may change the second half of that song by replacing Smith Rowe’s name with a different player – perhaps a new signing.

Mikel Merino is on the verge of joining Arsenal from Real Sociedad, and the Spaniard could find himself at the end of the iconic song.

Saka and Mikel Merino has a nice ring to it, albeit it won’t have the same emotion as the original chant did when Smith Rowe was at the club.
