‘Done the most for me’: Saka says player Arsenal released in 2021 helped him more than anyone else

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has named David Luiz as the player who has had the biggest impact on his career at the top level so far.
The Brazilian is one of the most experienced and accomplished players in the world. He has won almost everything at club level and he was a massive help for all of Arsenal’s young players during his time at the Emirates.
Luiz only spent two years at Arsenal. He won the FA Cup under Mikel Arteta in his first season at the club, but after an injury-hit second campaign, the Arsenal boss decided that the best thing would be to part ways.
Luiz was released by Arsenal at the end of his contract earlier this year, but Saka still appreciates everything the Brazilian did for him.
Bukayo Saka: David Luiz helped me the most at Arsenal
In his Q&A yesterday on , Saka was asked to name the one player who has helped him the most in his short career so far. The youngster admitted that many have had an impact on him, but none more than Luiz.
He said: “I’ve had a lot of help from different players, but I’d say the biggest impact was probably David Luiz, who has done the most for me in my career.
“To go into the first time is obviously not the easiest experience, but I think if you say this to all of the young players at Arsenal, (they’d say) David has done so much.
“He went out of his way to do a lot, with advice on and off the pitch. He was a really good guy.”

TBR View:
Luiz was one of the most criticised players during his time at Arsenal. Many fans and pundits were baffled about the fact that Arteta decided to hand him a new contract in the summer of 2020, but the Gunners boss ignored everyone.
Saka’s comments now tell us why.
Emile Smith Rowe and Saka became Arsenal’s two best players last season. Arteta and the coaches at Hale End have received a lot of credit for that and rightly so, but Luiz probably played a big part as well.
