Bryan Oviedo moves to ease Everton fans’ fears over Andre Gomes
Former Everton defender Bryan Oviedo believes Andre Gomes will recover just fine from his awful injury, after going through a similar situation during his time at Goodison Park.
Gomes is out for the foreseeable future after undergoing surgery on an ankle fracture dislocation sustained against Tottenham Hotspur recently.

Fans have inundated the midfielder with messages of support, and many have been unable to imagine the kind of pain he must have experienced.
For Oviedo, the injury brought back painful memories of his own leg break suffered against Stevenage in an FA Cup encounter.
The Costa Rican was out for 10 months but made a full recovery and went on to represent his country at the 2018 World Cup.
He is therefore well placed to speak about Gomes, and reckons he’ll come back just as strong as he did.
He said (): “It was difficult for me when I saw what happened to Andre because I knew what he would have been feeling.

“Andre can come back stronger, no doubt.
“It is a process and at the end you will be fine.
“It is a difficult time and when you come back and can run and play again, it feels fantastic. I am sure it will be the same for Andre.”
TBR’s view – Oviedo and McCarthy can inspire Gomes
Gomes is out for a long time, and there will be periods where he’ll grow very frustrated in his recovery.

But the £112,000-a-week () must have patience and trust in the medical staff, who did such great jobs with Oviedo and also James McCarthy, who also suffered a leg break in 2018.
It sounds as though Everton fans need not worry about lasting damage judging by Oviedo’s assessment which is a huge positive.
