Bryan Gil hails Tottenham player who won six ground duels in his latest match

Tottenham Hotspur had a fair few players in international action over the October break.

On the whole, it was a fruitful international break for the Spurs players, with many of them doing well for their countries.

Swedish newspaper  gave Dejan Kulusevski a 4 out of 5 rating against Slovakia, saying he was “definitely the best player on the pitch”.

The same outlet gave Kulusevski a 3 out of 5 score against Estonia, saying he was “very involved” and delivered a “great performance”.

Tuesday night saw the final few Nations League fixtures take place, with Spain one of the teams in action.

Tottenham’s Pedro Porro helped the Euro 2024 champions run out 3-0 winners over Serbia to claim a place in the quarter-finals, registering an assist.

Bryan Gil among those to praise Tottenham star Pedro Porro

The Spurs star whipped in a superb cross from outside the area, picking out Aymeric Laporte to head home the game’s opener just five minutes in.

Porro took to Instagram after the game to celebrate La Roja’s victory, and some of his peers praised him in the comments.

For instance, Bryan Gil wrote: “What a game mate”. Meanwhile, Alejandro Grimaldo said: “You play too much”. And Alejandro Balde wrote: “My brother”.

How Spanish media reacted to Porro display

 gave him an 8/10 rating, writing: “The first goal came from his boots and he created a lot of danger on his flank.

“He was also very attentive in closing down the Serbian full-backs’ runs. He was finally able to prove De la Fuente right in his candidacy to be Carvajal’s replacement.”

, meanwhile, wrote: “He provided a great assist for Laporte’s goal, showing that he loves to attack and has a good foot.

“A run and his subsequent shot led to the penalty that Morata missed, and he then rounded off his game with a good assortment of passes and shots. Carvajal has someone to cover for his absence.”

And  wrote: “De la Fuente trusted him for the second consecutive match and he quickly returned those credentials, with the cross to the far post that Laporte converted into the first goal.”

As per , Porro also weighed in with six ground duels and chipped in with three tackles, two interceptions and one clearance.
