Newcastle duo Bruno Guimaraes and Callum Wilson have congratulated Martin Dubravka on his move to Manchester United on deadline day.
Dubravka has lost his number one spot between the sticks at St James’ Park after the arrival of Nick Pope during the summer transfer window.
He will expect to be number two at Old Trafford behind David de Gea, and he will also be battling Tom Heaton for gametime.
The goalkeeper has moved on an initial loan deal, and United have an option to buy him, which may depend on how many games he plays.
Guimaraes and Wilson react as Dubravka leaves Newcastle
After his move was confirmed on deadline day, Dubravka took to Instagram to celebrate the switch and share his excitement at getting started.
There were plenty of well wishes in the comments section of the post, including from Newcastle talismen Callum Wilson and Bruno Guimaraes.
Newcastle are on an exciting journey at the moment, but Dubravka has joined an established superpower within world football.
It is not that clear whether his chances of gametime have gone up, but he has got a fresh start and an experience of playing at another huge club.
He was with a move to Old Trafford on the deadline day of the January window, when United were managed by Ralf Rangnick.
But United did not move Dean Henderson out on that occasion, which put the skids on that potential deal, meaning he has had to wait until now for the move.
