Brown’s long-awaited Leeds return should coincide perfectly with vital title run-in

Leeds United loanee Izzy Brown is still waiting to make his debut for the club he joined in the summer but has been handed a fitness boost,

Hay Marcelo Bielsa as saying Brown is fit and ready to be involved, but he will require six further matches with the club’s under 23 side in order to be fully match-sharp.

Bielsa’s side have been battling against injuries all season; the Argentine’s preference for a small squad and a high-tempo game has made the Whites increasingly susceptible to setbacks.

But Brown has not even taken to the pitch in a senior game yet and will be like a new signing when he does eventually come back, regardless of Leeds’ other business in this window.

Even though Brown may not yet be ready for a number of weeks, his return could come at the absolutely ideal time for the title run-in.

March and April are the months when proceedings really hot up and having a player who can just pop up with the odd goal or two at a vital time – unaffected by the fatigue of a long season and eager to earn his wages – could be invaluable.
