‘Bring him back’: Tottenham fans react to Nabil Bentaleb’s performance
Manchester City secured a 3-2 win away at Schalke in the first leg of the last 16 of the Champions League last night.
It was the scorer of Schalke’s goals caught the eye among Tottenham supporters, however.
Nabil Bentaleb spent four years at Spurs playing 46 games, before leaving to join Schalke permanently in 2017.

The 24-year-old has been in decent form for the Bundesliga outfit and it has left some Spurs supporters wondering what might have been.
It was Mauricio Pochettino who decided he was no longer part of his plans.
Bentaleb struggled to hold down a first-team place at White Hart Lane.
Spurs never saw the sort of form that Schalke supporters are now seeing, that’s for sure.
Bentaleb’s current form with Schalke will have offered food for thought to the Tottenham boss.
It does, however, appear to have divided the fan base at the North London-based club.
Some think his departure was premature, whilst others believe Pochettino was correct to offload him when he did.
Following his brace last night, both from the penalty spot, Spurs fans took to Twitter to offer their thoughts.
Agree, but unfortunately Bentaleb himself didn’t think so. Hence him & Poch fell out.

Was a key part of pochs midfield I’m his first season here and had a falling out due to bentaleb wanting to rush back after injury quality player should of never been let go

We have to be aiming higher than bentaleb. If available now I v much doubt our competitors would be interested nor Europe’s elite

Poch hasn’t made many mistakes but letting Bentaleb go is certainly one.

I would easily replace 29 year old Sissoko with Bentaleb.

Bentaleb was one of the best players on the pitch yesterday, and he plays a position we are in need of. Would you take him back?
