‘Brilliant’ 22-year-old could be given a chance of redemption at Leeds after Premier League squad news
With the transfer window firmly shut and the deadline for free agents now passed, Leeds United have named their Premier League squad.
New signings Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen and Luis Sinisterra are among those included.
The likes of Wilfried Gnonto, Joe Gelhardt and Archie Gray did not need to be registered due to being under 21.
However, there was a name included by Jesse Marsch that many Leeds fans wouldn’t have expected.

McCalmont spent last season on loan with League One side Morecambe, making 26 league appearances.
McCalmont was expected to be loaned out on deadline day, but a move never materialised.
Now, McCalmont has been named in Leeds’ Premier League squad, and has a chance to impress Marsch.
McCalmont in Leeds squad
Although McCalmont has yet to make an impact at Leeds, he’s already a senior international.
Northern Ireland teammate Shane Ferguson described him as ‘brilliant’ in his first international start.
The central midfielder has plenty of competition at Elland Road, and Leeds’ summer business didn’t make life any easier for McCalmont.
Leeds brought in Marc Roca and Tyler Adams who have immediately made the central midfield positions their own.
Marsch also has Adam Forshaw and Mateusz Klich in reserve and can call on Patrick Struijk if needed.

McCalmont has made two appearances for the under-21s this season, and scored on his first start against Nottingham Forest.
He’s going to have a great opportunity to impress Marsch if he plays for the under-21s tomorrow.
Leeds’ first team don’t have a game this weekend, and thousands of fans are expected to turn out at Elland Road to watch the reserves.
If McCalmont can put in a big performance tomorrow, he may justify his place in Leeds’ squad this season.
