‘Brilliant’ 18-year-old could be about to explode under Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham in 2024

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Jamie Donley could be a player to watch under Ange Postecoglou’s guidance in 2024.

Jamie Donley has emerged as the next big talent to come through Tottenham’s academy.

The 18-year-old made his Premier League debut at Manchester City in early December and also got some minutes under his belt against Newcastle United.

Donley has excelled for Tottenham’s Under-21s side this season, registering 18 goal involvements in just 12 appearances.

Ange Postecoglou has already hinted that Donley could get his opportunity soon, providing he continues to work hard behind the scenes.

And in our view, the next 12 months could prove to be the year where the Spurs academy product makes a name for himself in England’s top flight.

Donley could explode at Tottenham in 2024

Spurs will be hoping to welcome James Maddison back from injury this month after the midfielder picked up an ankle injury against Chelsea back in November.

Postecoglou has experimented with his midfield in the Englishman’s absence, with Dejan Kulusevski moving into the Maddison role.

But Donley has proven he can do a similar job for Tottenham’s academy sides, often playing as an advanced midfielder.

His numbers for the academy sides certainly back that theory up as he’s netted 36 times and provided 27 assists in 83 appearances.

Of course, it will represent a huge step up when Donley finally gets his chance to make an impact at Spurs.

But based on his performances at every level he’s played at so far, he seems to have the required talent to make a real impact at Tottenham.

Indeed, Donley has already netted five goals in as many games for England’s Under-19s.

You can understand why Postecoglou has been reluctant to throw Donley into the starting XI too soon. But once he gets a real opportunity to showcase his talent, we think the Spurs youngster won’t disappoint.
