Brian Laudrup says Rangers player’s performance left Celtic clueless on Saturday

Brian Laudrup has told The Scottish Daily Mail – – that Glen Kamara’s performance for Rangers in the middle of the park left Scottish champions Celtic “clueless”, as the Gers earned a 2-0 win at Parkhead on Saturday.

Neil Lennon named a much-changed side with the Hoops missing Christopher Jullien, Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie and James Forrest. Despite still boasting a very strong side, they managed just one shot on target against the Gers.

A brace from Connor Goldson earned Rangers all three points but Steven Gerrard’s men could have easily scored more – with Ryan Kent coming very close only to see his shot blocked by Kris Ajer on the goalline.

Rangers icon Laudrup spoke about Kamara’s performance in midfield, and reckons the Finland ace was far too good for Celtic – describing Celtic’s performance as “clueless”. He also raved about Kamara’s decision making, and expects his price tag to rise.

“I thought (Glen) Kamara was the best player on the park in the Old Firm game. Just outstanding. He was crucial to the control Rangers had,” “That control left Celtic looking clueless at points in their attempts to produce an attacking threat.

“Kamara’s decision-making sets him apart. It is exceptional when he is at his best. On Saturday, his footballing brain was in top gear to run beside his technical qualities. Kamara’s value will only rise if he impresses for Finland at Euro 2020 next summer.”

TBR’s view – Kamara has got to be Gerrard’s best signing?

His form this season, especially after the win over Celtic, certainly puts Kamara in the category of one of the Gers best players. But given that he cost just £50,000, surely the former Arsenal man has to be Gerrard’s best addition?

Certainly, he would hardly be sold by Rangers for anything less than an eight-figure fee going forward. Saturday only added to that value and as he continues to add senior caps to his name, Kamara is the best transfer Gerrard has done – so far.
