Brian Laudrup believes European clubs will be interested in Steven Gerrard after Rangers success
Rangers legend Brian Laudrup believes that Steven Gerrard will receive interest from both English and European clubs if he continues to build his managerial reputation with the Glasgow side.
Writing in his Daily Mail column , Laudrup claimed that ‘important clubs’ on the continent will be looking intently on how Gerrard has transformed Rangers in the three years he has been manager of the club, and that European teams could be interested in appointing the former Liverpool captain.
Gerrard has led Rangers to a historic season in the Scottish Premiership this term, with the Gers claiming their first-ever league title in over ten years as well as doing it as Invincibles, with the Glasgow giants winning 32 of their 36 SPL matches and conceding just 13 goals, and for Laudrup, this accomplishment will attract suitors beyond the United Kingdom.
The former Danish international said: “Inevitably, what he has done will lead to more rumours of interest from elsewhere. We have already seen some stories. Big teams in England will have noticed what’s going on Glasgow”
Laudrup later added: “But I wouldn’t say it’s just about England any more. I believe teams on the Continent, important clubs, will look at the way Gerrard has transformed Rangers and the way they are now playing. They would like some of that recipe.”

Football is seen as the world’s game, yet there are few cases of English players and managers stepping out of their comfort zone that is the United Kingdom and trying to succeed in both Europe and beyond, but for Gerrard, moving to a club on a continent seems to be a realistic next step in his coaching career.
The likes of Roy Hodgson and Graeme Souness, two figures Gerrard will be well associated with, have flourished in Europe as managers, and with the continent now opening its arms to English players and coaches, the Rangers boss could find himself in a position to take over one of the biggest clubs in the region once he wishes to move on from the Glaswegian giants.
