Brennan Johnson shares what Ange Postecoglou said when Tottenham were losing at half-time
Brennan Johnson has now been sharing what Ange Postecoglou told his Tottenham Hotspur players at half-time tonight.
Spurs started the game in untypically sloppy fashion, allowing Brentford far too many chances despite their dominance of the ball.

Neal Maupay was clearly proving successful in his attempts to frustrate the Tottenham players, in particular James Maddison.
And it just felt as if Spurs’ tactics had gone out of the window slightly, they had deviated from the game plan.
That being said, Tottenham were much more like their usual selves as soon as the second half began, with Timo Werner inspiring an incredible flurry of goals.
Brennan Johnson scored the Spurs’ second, having only just been introduced at the break.
And when speaking to after the game, Johnson shared what Postecoglou had told his Tottenham players at half time.
The home side were 1-0 down to Maupay’s goal, but clearly still believed in the comeback.

Johnson initially spoke about the first half itself, and then recalled his manager’s calming words.
He said: “It was a weird game. I think obviously we expected what was going to come, in terms of them trying to get set pieces, playing a tough game, and I think we fell for it in the first half.

“We were getting riled up by some of their players and I think in the second half, we just had to take a deep breath and play our football.”
Guy Mowbray then asked what happened at half time.
Johnson replied: “It was just one them games, the manager said before, once we score one we’ll score two and we’ll score three, he said those exact words.
“And as soon as we scored that first goal so early I just felt like we had to keep the momentum going.”
Of course, Postecoglou will look back on the win fondly, even if it was a tetchy finish for Johnson and his Tottenham teammates.
There were definitely moments of frustration, Postecoglou was furious with Dejan Kulusevsi at one point, but three points were taken.
And Spurs fans can now wait and see what deadline day brings tomorrow.
