Brennan Johnson shares injury update following concern during Tottenham vs Aston Villa

Tottenham Hotspur are back in action on Thursday night with a challenging away trip to face Galatasaray.

Ange Postecoglou’s side bounced back in style over the last week following their disappointing defeat against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

However, the victories over Manchester City and Aston Villa may well have come at a price with numerous injuries picked up.

Cristian Romero is going to miss around 10 days with a toe injury which will leave him sidelined for the Europa League game on Thursday.

Tottenham have also suffered injuries to the likes of Micky van de Ven and Richarlison with the pair out of action for the upcoming games.

However, there was seemingly another injury concern to come out of the game against Villa on the weekend with Brennan Johnson sharing an update in the wake of the game.

Brennan Johnson shares Tottenham injury update

After a stunning run of goalscoring form came to an end last month, Johnson was able to find the back of the net against Villa for his seventh of the campaign.

But the Wales international was seen struggling towards the backend of the game in north London despite playing the full 90 minutes.

Speaking to , the 23-year-old admitted he was only suffering from cramp towards the backend of the victory.

“Yeah, it was more just starting to get cramp a little bit. I think nothing, nothing more than that,” he said.

“It was a tough shift for everyone today. And yeah, especially when it got to 85/90 minutes, I started feeling it a little bit.”

Johnson has seriously impressed Postecoglou this season and his absence would mark a real miss given his improved consistency in front of goal.

Tottenham predicted XI vs Galatasaray

Having won all three of their opening Europa League games, Spurs will perhaps face their toughest task yet when they travel to Istanbul on Thursday.

But it comes at a time when Spurs are suffering from some big injuries but thankfully the likes of Radu Dragusin have repaid Postecoglou’s faith after being handed an opportunity in the starting XI.

With a busy schedule, the Australian would ideally like to rotate his side, but Spurs need to maintain their competitiveness which will certainly reduce that ability.

With the defence and attack suffering injuries, the biggest questions probably lie around Postecoglou’s midfield rotation.

Pape Matar Sarr has received a lot of praise recently but Postecoglou may well have to manage his game time with some changes needing to be made.

Tottenham predicted XI vs Galatasaray: Forster; Porro, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie; Bissouma, Sarr, Maddison; Johnson, Solanke, Son.
