Brennan Johnson says £85,000-a-week Tottenham man did something ‘unbelievable’ vs Burnley

Tottenham Hotspur star Brennan Johnson has hailed Pedro Porro after he scored the winner against Burnley in the FA Cup last night.

Spurs were made to work hard by Vincent Kompany‘s side, and all signs pointed towards a draw. However, Porro stepped up for Ange Postecoglou and scored an absolute stunner to seal the game.

Brennan Johnson hails Tottenham’s Pedro Porro

Pedro Porro has been one of Tottenham‘s most improved players this season.

Ange Postecoglou’s arrival has transformed the 24-year-old, and he is doing an incredible job for Spurs at right-back every week.

The Tottenham boss publicly claimed a few weeks ago that he wanted Porro to score more goals. The Spaniard took notes and delivered last night.

The £85,000-a-week () man picked the ball up outside the box and smashed in a truly spectacular strike. It was a goal worthy of winning any game, and it did turn out to be the winner.

Brennan Johnson was full of praise for his teammate after the game. He said on : “At the end of the day it took an unbelievable strike from Pedro to get us through to the next round which sometimes you need.

“No luck about the goal. Everyone who watches him every week knows the sort of quality he has, especially on the ball.

“Sometimes he is too far out to shoot most weeks, but today he won the ball back, drove with it and there wasn’t too many options. He has the quality, he shoots a lot in training, misses a lot, but today it came off. Unbelievable goal!”

Porro can score more goals

As a right-back, scoring goals isn’t really Pedro Porro’s responsibility, but the Spaniard definitely can be a threat in attack for Tottenham.

The 24-year-old’s technique on the ball is fantastic. He has the ability to bomb forward and get a shot away, and as he showed last night, he has plenty of power too.

Ange Postecoglou’s system allows both Porro and Destiny Udogie on the opposite side to get into really dangerous positions, and that has hurt teams this season.

The next step is for both of them to score more goals, especially Porro, who we’re sure will take more shots in the coming games after last night.
