Brennan Johnson now says player who left Tottenham for £45m is simply ‘unbelievable’
Brennan Johnson has lauded former Tottenham Hotspur man Kyle Walker as an ‘unbelievable’ defender.
Speaking to , the Tottenham winger reflected on facing off against the Manchester City star on Sunday.
Spurs picked up a hard-earned point at the Etihad Stadium thanks to goals from Son Heung-Min, Giovani Lo Celso and Dejan Kulusevski.
Ange Postecoglou’s men left it late to earn a draw as Kulusevski netted with a brilliant header in the 89th minute.
Brennan Johnson started on the right-hand side and put in yet another promising display. The Welshman was moved to the opposite flank in the second half after Bryan Gil was replaced by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
That meant Johnson had the task of facing off against former Spurs man Kyle Walker after Gil had struggled to cause the Englishman any real issues.

Johnson performed well on the left-hand side as he got a yard on Walker before delivering an exceptional ball into the box for Kulusevski’s late equaliser.
And the 22-year-old has been speaking about facing off against the City defender.
Johnson says former Tottenham man Walker is ‘unbelievable’
Speaking to Spurs Play, Johnson admitted that Walker is an ‘unbelievable’ defender but insists he felt confident on the day.
“I started on the right and Bryan started on the left and at half-time we made the change,” he said. “It’s kind of just something you get chucked into, the first few balls you get from Destiny or Ben, you get a feel for how someone wants to defend or just playing in the game you can see how they move.
“Obviously, Kyle Walker is an unbelievable defender, everyone knows about him, so I definitely had to be on it if I wanted to get anything out of him.
“But I felt confident on the left when I was running with the ball and to get the assist at the end was a good feeling.”

Walker switched North London for Manchester back in 2017, with Spurs receiving a fee for the right-back.
The 33-year-old has gone on to become one of the best full-backs in world football during his time at City.
It was an interesting battle between Walker and Johnson on Sunday as both players possess blistering pace.
But it will hand Johnson extra confidence that he managed to create space against the former Spurs man to set up Kulusevski. It’s no easy feat even getting a yard on Walker.
