Brennan Johnson and Cole Palmer react to news out of Aston Villa

Aston Villa completed the signing of Morgan Rogers from Middlesbrough on transfer deadline day.

And several of his peers from multiple clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, have wished him well following his move to the Villans.

Villa signed the 21-year-old for a reported fee of £8million which could rise to £15million with add-ons.

As per , Boro rejected three bids from Villa before agreeing a fee for Rogers, who had joined from Manchester City just last July.

The Citizens will reportedly receive a proportion of that money, having negotiated a 25 percent sell-on fee from any Boro profit.

Villa brought Rogers up to the Premier League following his great efforts at Boro, with 33 appearances, seven goals and nine assists this term.

His efforts helped the Teesside outfit to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup earlier this season and has kept them in the playoff chase.

Rogers took to after completing the move to Villa, writing: “Happy to join this amazing club. Can’t wait to get started and play in front of you fans #UTV”

A number of peers, including Tottenham Hotspur forward Brennan Johnson and Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer, wished Rogers well following his move.

Johnson, who moved to Spurs last summer, posted three red heart emojis, while Palmer, who swapped Manchester City for Chelsea last year, wrote “my boy”.

It’s good to see Johnson and Palmer among those praising Rogers. The Spurs man knows the Villa newcomer from their time at Lincoln City, while the Chelsea man knows him from the Manchester City academy and also the England youth ranks.

It’ll be exciting to see how Rogers fares at Villa for the rest of the season and in the coming years. He looks like a star in the making.
