Report: Leeds’ ‘special’ new signing has blitzed all but one player in pre-season fitness training
Leeds have been splashing the cash this summer as they prepare for life without both Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha at Elland Road.
The Whites have had to cash in on Phillips, who signed for Manchester City, while Raphinha is also hoping to seal a move to either Chelsea or Barcelona in the coming days. For Jesse Marsch, it’s been a massively busy first summer in charge.
Among the players Leeds have signed this summer is Brenden Aaronson. The ‘special‘ American player was the first through the door at the end of last season and will be looking to make a big impression.

It’s reported how that in the pre-season bleep tests, Aaronson has been hugely impressive and only finished behind the usual winner, Jamie Shackleton, when it came to winning the event. And given Jesse Marsch demands so much from his team in terms of running and pressing, Aaronson’s performance will be pleasing for the Leeds boss.
Certainly, there could be some big games for Leeds this season with those new players key. Aaronson looks to be doing well, while Cody Drameh also impressed in pre-season action last night.

The Leeds players needed to be super fit under Marcelo Bielsa and the same can be said for their time under Marsch, who places similar – if not a bit less intense – demands on his players.
For Aaronson to be doing so well in what will be seen as a big pre-season test among the Leeds players speaks volumes about his conditioning. And that will bode well for the American, which in turn will help him adapt to life in England.
Marsch will be delighted with this, and Aaronson could be a crucial player for the Whites this season.
