Celtic now have just a matter of hours to tie up any loose ends in this summer’s transfer window before the deadline on Friday.
There’s no doubting there has been some considerable change at Parkhead over the summer with one major departure.
Matt O’Riley’s exit marked the biggest sale in the history of Scottish football after the midfielder made the move to Brighton & Hove Albion.
It was not news that went down well with some as Chris Sutton slammed Celtic for selling O’Riley – despite the huge transfer fee.
However, Brendan Rodgers and the Celtic board have been working to maintain the standards set by the Bhoys as the champions of Scotland.
Having made an unbeaten start in the league with three wins from their opening three wins, the Hoops faired well without the Danish midfielder in their last outing against St. Mirren.
Despite the recent news, Rodgers has been left delighted with what has now happened at Celtic Park over the last 24 hours.

Brendan Rodgers reacts to Alex Valle’s signing at Celtic
Having sold O’Riley for around £25m, Celtic have been left with some money to play with in these final hours of the window.
The Bhoys are already trying to find their O’Riley replacement with Celtic having lodged a £10m bid for Arne Engels in recent days.
However, it is some business which has already been completed which has left Rodgers absolutely delighted ahead of the game on Sunday.
On Wednesday, it was announced that Celtic had landed left-back Alex Valle on a season-long loan from Barcelona.
This was news which went down extremely well with the boss as Rodgers shared his excitement with the Celtic .
“We’re delighted to have landed Álex on this season-long loan as we continue to strengthen the squad for the season ahead,” he said.
“His footballing style will complement our attacking play as well as giving us more options in our backline.
‘Álex has been brought up in a real high-quality footballing environment learning all the good habits and skills associated with any top team. He is a player with some tremendous attributes.’
“He has performed really well for Levante last season, been around Barcelona’s first team this year already and he is a welcome and quality addition to our squad.”
Who is Alex Valle?
The 20-year-old defender is yet to make his debut for the Barcelona senior side but he has featured in the matchday squad as recently as on the weekend.
Valle has been able to represent Spain at youth level and was developed through the ranks of the famous La Masia academy at Barcelona.
In need of more regular game time, Valle has joined the Bhoys where he will be exposed to Champions League football.
And he has also shared his excitement to get started at Parkhead.
“I’m very excited, it’s a great opportunity to come to this historic club,” he told the club website.
“They have given me a lot of confidence to come here, so I will try to do my best to return the confidence.
“I’ve heard a lot about the fans and and what we can experience in this stadium, so I’m just excited to see it in real life.”
