Brazil’s media critical of Leeds star Raphinha in 0-0 draw with Argentina

of Leeds star Raphinha overnight, with the winger proving to be ineffective during the 0-0 draw against Argentina.

The 24-year-old was handed his fifth cap by Tite, after a superb October international break that saw him score twice against Uruguay in a 4-1 win.

But this time around, it was not to be. He failed to provide the spark in the 1-0 win over Colombia last week, and it was a similar story on Tuesday.

Against the likes of Lionel Messi, Rodrigo De Paul and Angel Di Maria – Raphinha offered little, but

On 69 minutes, Raphinha was replaced – Antony coming on. That is, after being on the receiving end of an elbow from Nicolas Otamendi.

GE ran a player ratings piece after the match, and they handed Leeds ace Raphinha a disappointing 5/10 – stating he “produced little”.

“It took a while to get going, and when he appeared, he produced little. He was attacked by Otamendi, and had to have five stitches.

“Even so, the referee did not even call a foul. He was the first to be replaced by Tite, giving way to Antony,”

Will Raphinha be okay for Leeds, ahead of Tottenham clash?

Having suffered the blow in the first half and soldiered on until half-time before five stitches, and then continuing until 69 minutes – he is okay.

Whether it was adrenaline that got Raphinha through, or simply the fact it was playing for his country – remains to be seen.

But by the time Sunday afternoon comes around, Raphinha is likely to be fit enough to start for the Whites. Hopefully a better performance from him.
