Bradley Dack’s performance shows Rafa Benitez exactly what Newcastle lack

Bradley Dack further added to his burgeoning reputation with a goal against Premier League side Newcastle United.

In yesterday’s FA Cup Third Round clash between Newcastle and Blackburn Rovers at St James’ Park, Dack’s goal looked like it would send the visitors through.

But a late Matt Ritchie penalty ensured the game went to a replay instead.

Dack put Blackburn ahead in the 56th minute with an impressively manufactured goal.

Elliott Bennett’s cross found Dack, who had made a clever dart between two defenders. Unmarked, he produced a powerful header to give Freddie Woodman no chance.

Considering how poor Newcastle have been in front of goal this season, Rafa Benitez would have watched Dack’s performance carefully.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder, who can also play as a striker, was a constant threat with his clever movement.

It is no surprise that Dack has racked up a tally of 13 goals and four assists this season.

And with West Ham interested, , Blackburn face a battle to keep Dack.

The ex-Gillingham man would be an ideal signing for Newcastle if they decided to show some ambition this month.

Operating just behind Salomon Rondon, Dack could thrive in this Newcastle side and help improve their tally of just 15 goals in 21 league matches.

Benitez would have noticed that Dack offers exactly what Newcastle are missing.
