Bournemouth fans react as Leeds loanee Leif Davis makes full debut
While Marcelo Bielsa’s players are generally known for being more versatile than most realise, it will have still come as a huge shock to most to see the role given to Leeds United loanee Leif Davis on his full Bournemouth debut.
Davis has predominantly played as a left-back. That is where he has tended to be used for the Whites’ under-23s. Meanwhile, he can also play in the middle of the backline.

However, Scott Parker clearly had other ideas for the 21-year-old. The Cherries boss decided to use Davis on the right of a front three for their trip to Birmingham on Wednesday.
It proved to be a successful trip to The Midlands for Bournemouth. They won 2-0 to ensure that they remain tied with the Championship leaders after three games.
Unfortunately for Davis, it proved to be a difficult occasion. He perhaps struggled to adapt to the unfamiliar role.

No starter on either side made fewer accurate passes than Davis (). Admittedly, he was the second player taken off.
Nevertheless, plenty of Bournemouth fans have lauded the Leeds loanee. They admired the way he battled through. He has received praise for his efforts.
It does appear that Parker may need to rethink using Davis there in future. But some thought he did well.
‘Played decently’: Bournemouth fans react as Leif Davis makes full debut
There was even a comparison with David Brooks from one supporter, which is certainly high praise.
With that in mind, here is what some of the Bournemouth fans made of Davis’s debut…
Huge credits to too. He was wayyyyyy out of his natural position and still played with a full heart. Took the challenge as it came and earned my respect 🍒

You need to let Meos know you’re ahead of him, he might pass to you! 😉 Well played tonight 🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒

So much respect for him. Did really well with a position not used to 🍒

0-0 HT. Some thoughts:
– Davis slyly resembles Brooks as the left-footed RW. Less fluid in his movement which is to be expected so would like to see him on the left.
– defending in a compact shape, making it hard for to play through. Kelly long balls a frequent route— Ahmed Shooble (@AhmedShooble)
